Starting Weapons

Heyo.
I'm trying to do something.
Basically, I made a weapon which uses striking skill, and I'm trying to get it as the standard weapon for starting strikers.
No luck.
Any idea how I can make a weapon standard to a skill, or is it hard coded?

It doesn't seem to be hardcoded, since I've started with everything from metal claws to wooden ranseurs before.
I think it's the skill that's tied to the weapon. Since the skill is meant to be used with natural attacks, you won't get a weapon for it.

Did you do SKILL:GRASP_STRIKE]? or just [SKILL:STRIKER]?

Grasp strike is correct.
