Demon Crash
« on: August 29, 2006, 08:05:00 pm »

My 8 crossbowmen lined up in their little fortress by the chasm.  Demons were coming, and they already killed my legendary and founding miner.  With pefect timing we managed to raise the bridge allowing the survivors to flee and trapping the demons on their side.. or so we thought.

They simply flew over the chasm like it wasn't there and began to kill peasants, for some reason still hauling rocks around.

They sailed right through some weapon and cage traps like they wern't even there.

Then they came within range of my steel missiles!  A barrage of bolts flew from the fortress ...

and the game crashed!!! awwwwwwww.  My first crash!

Demons are supposed to be able to go over traps as though they're not there.  Don't know about the rest, though, and I assume that they're not supposed to crash the game when they're in danger of losing...  although with demons, you can never be too sure...

Somebody else had a demon related crash too...  unless that was you on another forum.  Right now I don't have enough to run with.  Unless I messed up their creature definitions, there's nothing particularly special about them.

I wish I had more info to give you, but essentially a ton of dwarves all shot a demon at the same time.  I saw their little bolts speeding towards the demon, but the moment they hit the demon the game froze, my computer chugged a little, and it crashed.

Maybe something about the arrows hitting at the same time?  It was quite the bombardment!
