This is gonna be just like last time ARMA 2 was on sale. A pile of people from COD will be running around with MP5s and shotguns and i'll be 1500m away sniping their asses.

Then one of them will try getting an AC-130. Huge target for me to shoot down.

That sounds fun, mind if I join you? Also, is sniper ballistics in game? (Distance, bullet drop, etc.)

there are ballistics in place for all rounds fired, it is a mil-sim style game.

If steam does another summer sale like last year, end of june to early july, I'd pick it up then for mod support.

It'll probably be dirt cheap sometime during that week.

Let us hope. Though July is still so far away...  :P

(Thumbs up for -66-75% discount on Combined arms = instant purchase)

I just picked up Combined Operations at Newegg.com for $27.99.

I wonder if this counts for things like the BE warfare mod?

But I'd suggest getting combined ops because it is one of the most fun games out at the moment

Also, if this drums up enough support here would anyone be interested in getting a dedicated server?

Warfare is not a mod, it's just a mission, so it should work fine. Nothing is downloaded but the mission file. Same goes for stuff like Insurgency, Domi, etc.

The multiplayer was just awful...  spawn camping, team killing, team killing spawn camping. Irony of multiplayer is that it's always ruined by other players.

Team fortress 2 just ranked up a whole bunch on my list :)

If you were playing on a public server, that was your problem. Private servers are a must for competitive ArmA; you will not get anywhere in a mil-sim without having teammates who you know and have pre-determined roles. ArmA is EXTREMELY teamwork dependent.

Team Fortress 2 is a game where you hop into a random PUG for a couple minutes, ArmA is not.

EDIT: Fixed shameful grammar mistakes.
