Beat hazard is basically asteroids but with you playing your music in the background and the screen is so covered with effects you can't see anything at all. Not great.

Audiosurf on the other hand is a lot better, the gameplay might not be amazing but it's playable, and the music really shapes the gameplay in a meaningful way. The different modes are also provide pretty nice variety. Definitely my favourite of the 2.

I've played both Audiosurf and Beat Hazard. They're both good games. Here's a tip: The faster a song's beat is, the harder it will be at any difficulty level in either game, compared to a song with a slower beat.

Did not like Audiosurf at all.  Didn't get the point at all--okay, it's essentially random tracks with a soundtrack...okay...?

Beat Hazard was fun, but I take issue to a few things in it.  You get 'ranks' that actually make you start with more bonuses and get more multipliers as the game progresses, which seems stupid because it just means you get few points at the start.  Of course the bonuses max out after about two or three hours of play.  The 'huge' bosses aren't that huge, there's only three types of smaller enemies, and God help you if the song you choose has any quiet parts in it because you won't be able to shoot during them.  All in all it's a very simple game.  But...Loading up Jethro Tull's "Thick as a Brick" (which is like...upwards of 50 minutes long) is kind of nice.

Osu! is an *excellent* game.

I've found that Daft Punk songs not only sound good, but play good in Beat Hazard.

I'm a necromancer!

Also, they recently released an expansion/dlc that's quite good. I've gotten back into it after 9-10 months of not touching, and I'm slowly climbing back up to where I was after having to wipe out my score. Quite fun.

Hey, hey you.
You forgot online multiplayer.
Aww yeah.

But yeah.  Bunch of new content, online multiplayer...
It's a pretty potent upgrade, I'd say.

Aerodynamic will probably be the hardest Daft Punk song in that game, not counting any Tron musics.
