Mixing egg laying and normal creatures?
« on: June 12, 2011, 05:51:10 am »

Have anyone else mixed chickens and cats into one species?

Have no clue how the egg laying will effect it... Either DF freaks out by this insanity or you get the ultimate master race.

From testing I know it is possible to have a single species that has egg-laying and non-egg-laying castes, both of which will function normally.

The end result is gross. Those chicken eggs will hatch, revealing a newborn puppy, barking or a kitten, mewling as it stays with it's parents (the chicken) until it grows old.

In short, yes, it works. But those eggs will hatch into different creatures, despite being called a "chicken" egg.
