No, none of my bags are decorated, they're just plain leather bags. I've tried bringing leather bags, making my own on site, making plant cloth bags, none of them work. With or without a stockpile for bags. I always get a 'need sand bearing item'.
The only way I can get them to make glass anything is having one furnace repeat 'collect sand' then another with 'Build glass xxx'. The guy with the make glass orders goes and grabs the filled bags from the sand collecting guy.
The 'collect sand' order is not created and placed before 'make glass' if there are no filled bags is my best guess.
This is annoying, I was looking forward to glass towers...

Are you saying Collect Sand should be an automatic order, like collecting webs at the Loom? Or are you saying that you have to have two glass furnaces because the one making glass keeps cancelling sand cancellation? The second situation sounds like a bug.

All I can say right now is that glass furnaces don't automatically gather sand and apparently they are not intended to. It has to be ordered just like any product (which can be stuck on Repeat of course), or X amount can be ordered on the Manager interface. I can think of a few reasons this might be (you might want bags for other things, areas defined for sand sources are infinite so you could very possibly get way too much sand taking up all your bags).

Not a bug. It just isn't automatic.

Just put sand collection on repeat followed by whatever glass item you want to make on repeat. Presto, it will collect sand and then make it into something over and over.
