How long until FB?

I breached the caverns. How long do I have until I get my first forgotten beast?
Also, can 25 underskilled underequipped dwarves hope to defeat an "average" FB?

1) Maybe a month, maybe never
2) Technically you need 0 dwarves if you build practical infrastructure.

FB have a certain trigger, according to your progress, namely population and created wealth.  After that, the timer is random.
