Sorry, the trade depot interface is great, but; How can I filter for prepared food only? There isn't a section. My fort thrives off preparing a range of food for elves, humans and dwarves alike, except I still have to filter through the 'All' list to find the right items. Pain.

Please add a new section in the trade depot menu for 'prepared food'. I've looked several times for it. I keep looking.

(The traders even asked for prepared food one year! Could those two screens synch up?)

As a workaround you should be able to use the (s)earch option to find prepared food.

search for biscuit (easy) stew (fine) or roast (lavish)

You might also want to try searching for "minced" - but I don't have a trade window available at the moment to test that.

I noticed this as well, but as Troas said you can just use the search function.

I also find the sort by value option to be great for finding things to trade in the "all" menu, since it drops the massive list of stone, mechanisms, blocks, etc down to the bottom of the list. If you have massive super meals they should be on top, especially if you have 20k value masterpiece meals like my cook regularly churns out from quarry bush leaves and dwarven syrup.

The word "Minced" isnt in any actual name of a food item, but as a description in a food item.

the search function isn't really a separate function at all - you just type in what you want at the depot menu and it automatically filters items for you.

I also have been unsuccessful in any kind of searching, despite pseudorandom keypresses all over the place.  Is there any particular state the trade goods window needs to be in before it'll accept input?

You can usually start typing as soon as it opens, otherwise press "s." I've had no problems trading away my strangely valuable food
