pump ends cause dangerous terrain (33g)
« on: December 24, 2007, 08:09:00 pm »

I had some pumps set up in the middle of my barracks to train dwarves on. after moving one, I noticed that every time a dwarf stepped on the square where the impassable square of the pump used to be, he canceled his job (dangerous terrain).

sure enough, I dismantle all the pumps and several more (but not all) are now 'dangerous' when stepped on. I suspect (but am not sure) that the dangerous terrain was caused by dismantling pumps that were in use.

Building a wall over the dangerous square, then removing the wall fixed it and made the squares normal again. Sorry, no save available because I did not think to save it before I fixed them.

I think this has happened to me to.  I was playing with pumps and was getting this same message.  This would explain it.

Okay, I've noted it down.  Hopefully it will reproduce.

I couldn't get this to happen.  If this is still coming up, and somebody has a save, that would be useful.

I tried a few more times and I could not get it to happen again either, so I guess it got fixed somewhere along the line.

My pump operators all stopped pumping as soon as I set the pump to be deconstructed in the current version. If I remember right they kept pumping till the pump was actually dismantled in 33g (the version this report was from) and I think that was the cause, so that could be why I can't get it to reproduce again.
