Considering beginning work on a pokemon mod.
« on: May 27, 2011, 03:29:41 pm »

Because Charmander would be so much !!FUN!!. Any suggestions?

Also, can someone explain the process of adding a creature to the raws? The most I've ever done successfully was making it possible to make a platinum weapon outside of a mood.

If you have no creature modding experience... a pokemon mod may take a little while... cough.

I think it's the way towns develop now. In the beginning, people move into a town. Then they start producing tables, which results in more and more tables. Soon tables represent a significant portion of the population, they start lobbying for new laws and regulations, putting people to greater and greater disadvantage...
Link for full quote. 'tis mighty funny.

Read the wiki and do it yourself.  Make all the evolutions of a single pokemon different castes, because it allows for more physical differences than simply changing the name as they age, which I believe is also possible.  This means your pokemon can't really "evolve" into other pokemon but it still keeps them closely related, and they can breed together.  And once curses are in, some playing around with those might allow for evolution.

You could also look at older pokemon mods for ideas, but I still suggest reading the wiki and asking more specific questions than "how do I mod" once you start having more specific problems.  And I'm a fan of doing it yourself, because it'll probably be fun to make this kinda thing yourself.

Might be a good place to start.
