Ahem.

The City of Aachen, West Germany.

I second this. It's about time a forum game took place somewhere OTHER than the USA.

Plus, I like Aachen. Ah, universities, waaaay too much stone, and incredible closeness to Belgium.

Despite the best, I do not see how the SBU/GRU/Other Intelligence Agency would appear in such an area. Or the LCS, for that matter, considering you can't really liberalize a already contested area.

That, and why a Five Star Hotel would be there.

Sorry to have to tell you this, but you were supposed to take the presence of the LCS as our adversaries as a hint to pick a US city.

Well, it'd be fine to have LCS appear in a different country. Just a change of scenery. Hell, any country that is not vaguely in perpetual war would work, just make it more Conservative.

But if you insist...

The Liberal Crime Squad was founded here, in this city, the city of Fargo, North Dakota. You had scarcely arrived when the whole situation went to hell. After checking into your hotel, you went to the local homeless shelter, tracking down the lead you were given in the LCS's dossier. It only was a couple of minutes into your investigation that a large man who's very presence seemed to subdue that of all others walked into the room with a revolver and opened fire upon you, claiming you to be, in his words, "Conservative Sleeper Scum". You weren't carrying your gun at the time due to this being nothing more than a blind investigation, and that nearly got you killed. The man's minions swarmed at you with axes and knives, but by that point you were already in retreat with a bullet wound in your side, and two more to come. You just barely made it to your vehicle. There's probably a good deal of blood leading to your room, but as the hotel owners and the Agency have a bit of an....understanding, it should all get cleaned up without incident.

To your west is the balcony of the five-star hotel room you were assigned for this mission. To your east is the bathroom, closet, and exit. A trail of blood goes from your feet, to the bathroom, and out the door. South of you is your bed, covered in blood and the contents of a partially used first aid kit. Also present is the very bloody upper half of the suit you were wearing. To your southeast is your desk, with your desktop computer and Multi-Purpose Portable Computing Aparatus (PCA) on it. To your southwest is your filing cabinet, for hard copies of important documents, and your nightstand, which has your wallet, Agency ID, and keys on it. To your north is your rather large but mostly useless wall-mounted television.

For now, there is nothing you can do other than getting patched up. Better get driving, bucko.

As for afterwards, check with the local police, if there are insane men like that living at the homeless shelter, why haven't they been able to deal with him?

Wait, I redact what I first said, check all available data you have on your computer and PCA.

Go to the bathroom and look for any painkillers, if there are any take them. Its hard to focus when your looking at a "Moderate Pain" tag!

You move to leave and go to the hospital, but at the door you realize that not only do you not have your keys or any proper clothing on, but if you spend too much time resting at the hospital the LCS might be able to do.....whatever it is that they're planning to do if you don't interfere. It can't be good, that's for sure.

You go to the bathroom and find a half-full bottle of codeine. Better than nothing, you suppose. You take two of them and bring the bottle with you.

You get on your computer and open the dossiers for the LCS and its leader. You take your PCA in case you need a reference or contact.

Well, you might as well change your clothes. And get a fresh pair of bandages.

You change your bandages now that the bleeding has mostly subsided. You open your closet door. Inside the closet are replacement suits, casual civilian clothing, darkened sunglasses, a bulletproof vest, and your gun locker. While the suit definitely gives you a more powerful image and will make civvies more apt to believe that you're an Agent, it also stands out and looks the same as the outfit that the LCS last saw you wearing. On the other hand, the civilian clothes will help you blend in, but will lessen your appearance of authority. The glasses will reduce glare and make it harder for people to read your emotional state, along with completing the "agent" image should you wear the suit. The bulletproof vest will, obviously, help you to avoid a repeat of the events that lead you to nearly bleeding out on your bed, but it's heavy, restricting, and suspicious as hell should someone feel it through your clothing. Finally, the gun locker contains your assigned firearms for this mission, a Glock 17 pistol and an MP5 sub-machine gun. Obviously, the latter should probably only be reserved for more extreme situations due to it being unconcealable. Now, what to take....
