[33f] Inside/Outside designation problem after mining.
« on: December 20, 2007, 03:44:00 pm »

I know this is might sound like a 33e problem, but this world was generated in 33f and the bug is different from the 33e version.

I'm not sure exactly what caused the bug, but this is what I was doing. I decided to relocate the entrance of my fortress from the top of a hill to the side of the hill. I dug out part of the hill to make the entrance shaped more to my liking. Next, I built some green glass walls around the natural walls of the hill I had just dug out.

The next thing I know, one of my subterranean fields is designated as above ground. I examine the area carefully and notice that there are four squares that are Inside, Above Ground, and Light while the rest are Inside, Dark, and Subterranean. I go the z-level above to examine the offending squares only to find out that these squares have green glass walls built on top of them. I order two of these walls deconstructed. Underneath the walls are "Furrowed Clay" squares. I didn't put them there, and they are unplantable. They don't act like fields at all. I save, then channel out these squares and build floor tiles on top of them to see if this fixes the problem. It doesn't. Upon loading the previous save, one (but only one, I had two revealed) furrowed clay squares reverts back to normal ground, but the problem persists over all tiles.

I checked and it didn't look like this bug was already reported, so I hope this isn't something you already know about.

I could have sworn there was a seperate thread or three for this, but this is mentioned about half way down this one (the thread started with the 33e bug, morphed into the 33f bug).

Oh. Strange. I thought I searched for this thoroughly enough. I guess not.
