Zon Gikenzas, Child has grown to become a Ruthless Entre
« on: January 02, 2007, 10:55:00 pm »

I have eight stores in my current fortress... FIVE of which are owned by children.  Do their parents know what they're doing with their allowances?  I'm particularly worried about the child who owns an exotic clothing shop.

The intruder arose, casting off its black cloak.  "Behold, stunted jesters!  It is I, Scuro!"  A jagged scar marked the goblin's face from eye to chin, his greasy mane gray and wild, and about his neck was the broken silver amulet, strapped together by a leather band.

I think it has to do with a known bug of childeren having money equal to mom's + dad's.

It'd make more sense if the child's wealth was equal to a percentage of mom+dad's wealth... like 10% or so.

Nah, I don't want the parents taking the kids monies. Then you get McCauley Dwarfkin suing his parents and emancipating himself, getting all hopped up on sweet pods and Dwarven rum, and... heh

Perhaps child labor laws, restricting them to only certain duties. Otherwise, let the free market reign! =D

Right now, the parents and child all share the family account, and the child has no restrictions.  It might be reasonable for the children, especially the two year olds, to not be able to manage certain responsibilities until they are a little older.
