Strange strange mood

Hi there,

My fortress is now 4 years old and I already have like 5 or 6 artifacts. Now a butcher (also novice mason) claimed a masonry, collected stones, gems, the usual stuff. Now he just sits there and mutters "Ikudnanir Som Arel". I have no idea what that could possibly be, is there a way to safe him or should i just lock him in and wait till the problem solves itself?

Sounds like a possesion to me.

That's probably the name of the artifact.  The dwarf is working on it now, I think.

Huh, that seems to be it. I just found the "has started working on it" message. It was buried beneath 2 pages of "cancels this" and "cancels that".

edit: turned out to be a pretty stupid coffin with a circle on it. How anti-climatic.

That's why it's usually good to turn off cancellation messages in the 'o' menu.

Sadly, that doesnt seem to be an option anymore.

You see I drained a murky pool to make room for furniture storage. It was mostly dry and I ordered the first items moved in.

Then winter came.

The last remaining droplets of water instantly froze to iceblocks the size of an elephant and crushed 7 of my dwarves. The rest of the fort is now engaged in an all out tantrum-throwing civil war, with no end in sight.

It's that special brand of fun you only get in this game.
