I was surprised how would your modified goblins/kobolds affect the genesis mod at all, because the genesis mod is a separate game folder which has nothing to do with your modded previous game.

I have a question...upon downloading the Genesis mod, will it be playable immediately, or do I really have to go through all this file and program management?

Pre-packaged means that it's playable immediately, if you can't figure out how to unpack the genesis folder (drag-and-drop from the archive works) and launch the dwarffort.exe inside of it, then I can make screenshots to show you how to do it.

1) Get to a game folder where you want to place the mod:


2) Open the archive, it should look like that:


3) Click the mouse button on the folder inside of the archive and drag-and-drop it inside of your game archive:


4) Now you have the modded game folder inside of the games folder:


5) Double-click it to get inside of it, there you have this:


6) Double-click the dwarf fortress.exe and play.

It's working.  Thanks so much Deon, both for convincing me to get the Genesis mod, as well as helping me start it up.  Thank you.

Edit: My God, there are so many races, it's beautiful...

NRDL has been ecstatic lately.
He has viewed an exceptionally well crafted mod recently.
