Why i love DWARF FORTRESS

Just a quick recap of my day today i wanted to share. The world gen was rough. running the genesis mod, civilizations kept dying out and i would have to restart. It took ages to finally find a world with all civs intact AND some nice haunted territory to settle down in and call home. I embarks and suddenly realize i cant dig down any farther due to an aquifer. While fending off some skeletal monkeys i made a plug and dropped it down through the aquifer twice. That took many failed attempts, and the death of 3 valiant farmers who happened to be the ones pulling out the supports. Suddenly i have a nice fort, but alas it was not meant to be, the second i completed a bridge to the outside world, i was invaded. by an army of CENTAUR bowman. They obliterated base and 4 man army like a kitten in hot magma. I F***ING LOVE THIS GAME.
TLDR total annihilation

And this is why I love BAY12 GAMES FORUMS. Because stuff like this makes people laugh rather that rage. :D

waves of blood washed over my fortress. Then everyone died. I just couldn't lower the bridge in time, then in the middle of battle the booze exploded and things caught on fire too. so much destruction
