Tons of Barons
« on: September 10, 2024, 11:12:18 am »

Recently, denizens of my forts have begun inheriting nobility titles quite frequently. I’ve got 4 barons in my current fort, and one of my previous forts also had one (long before any was supposed to be appointed). It’s frankly getting irritating. They still have room requirements and make both demands and mandates, but they don’t come with any of the upsides a normal barony is supposed to grant you. I can’t even make them have an accident because they are skilled dwarves with many relationship ties. This has never happened to me before. Anyone else experiencing this increase in inheritances?

If you're so sure that you're gonna end up killing all of dwarven civilization, why not make a statue depicting 2147483647 dead dwarves, all of which are burning? Name it something good, like Deaddead the Dead Dead Dead-Dead of Dying. Just put it in the main hall or something, as a grim reminder that they're all gonna die.

The increase of inheritance is caused by a bunch of nobles dying at once. This usually happens when every noble's age is clumped near each other or the mountainhome got raided.

My world is 250 years old, so the former is entirely possible.
