I have caught a breeding pair of giant cave spiders, but from my limited understanding of the raws, it seems that giant cave spiders don't normally breed. How would I get them to have children, or possibly lay eggs?

This is my attempt, based on the elk bird raws:

Is that right? Is there anything else I need?

They also need to be [PET]s to be breedable.

And they probably only lay eggs in nest boxes and they probably need to be tamed for that to happen. Not sure about that though

Ok, well I've already changed all exotic pets into normal, tamable pets, and I know about the nest boxes, so I guess I'm good to go!

Are GCS exotic pets than? I thought they were untameable in a normal world? I might be wring though.
