Skill Advancement Affected by Attribute?
« on: April 28, 2011, 12:54:31 am »

Skill advancement, quality of items made, and chance of making higher quality items is now apparently affected by attributes?

I tried making a fort with a starting seven that were overpowered (used Runesmith to make their attributes 65535) and realized that they were making masterful barrels at a rate never seen before.

This is only an empirical conclusion. Can someone test this? Thanks :)

*coughs loudly, points at sig*

not only tested, but developing a project to analyze dorfs and tell you what jobs to give them.

UPDATE: Preferences must be thoroughly subjected to !!SCIENCE!! so that I can properly integrate them into my script, and I apologize for any confusion.

With that high agility, they probably worked a lot faster, so levelled up/created stuff  much, much, much faster.

Oh man, that's legit. Thank you.

EDIT: I looked at your program. It's pretty legit, but I was hoping to get an equation or some definite relationship set down between attributes, skill rate increases, and quality/value of items made. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
