Can caste types produce a creature that breeds true?
« on: April 29, 2011, 03:48:12 pm »

I was thinking of modifying geese by adding a couple of castes to them.

The normal goose will have a fairly common caste frequency.
Then I plan on adding a caste for gold laying and steel laying varieties with much rarer caste frequencies.

Is there a way to make the rarer castes to breed true once I get it?

Yeah. Look at ant people RAWs.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
1 queen per 10,000 ants.

But the problem there is that the queen caste will still produce offspring that includes all other castes.

I'm asking if it's possible for the queen, once you breed one, to produce only queens?

Unfortunately, Necro... that is not what "Breeding True" means.

No, cdrcjsn.  There is no way to control which castes have which kinds of babies, therefore you will not be able to use castes as a breed.  Sorry.

Hmm...that's disappointing.

Is it possible for a creature to give birth to other creatures?

For example, can a Duck lay an egg that hatches into a Dog?

No, that doesn't work as intended either.  Creatures either as Itemcorpse or Specialeggs do not operate correctly.
