Edit: Problem fixed. Turns out it was a copyright violation and the campus newspaper took care of it.

Not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure this is how it works:
First, be nice and politely ask him to take it down.

If he blows you off, go nasty with dmca (make sure you own the rights to the articles first, the campus newspaper may own them, if they do you'll have to get them to do it.).  After the dmca has been sent, google has to take it down or file a counter claim saying it isn't copyrighted or that they own the rights to it.  I'm pretty sure you need to send the takedown notice to google since they host the website, but I'm not 100% on that.  I wouldn't be shocked if they had a guide up on how to handle this on the blogger website.

:Edit: be absolutely sure you own the rights to the article if you do a takedown notice.  If he decides to go nasty back and finds out the dmca isn't from the rights holder, you could actually be in some legal trouble.  Be 100% sure.  If you're really worried about it, contact an attorney who knows about this kind of stuff.

To clarify, I'm assuming that if I can get a hold of him he will take it down. The question is, how do I get a hold of him? I can't even get a hold of Google to tell me how I might get a hold of this guy. Since there's no contact info listed I assume the best way to contact him is by the email address he must have given to Google to register. I doubt they'd give me that, but I figure maybe they'll be able to tell me something useful.

If you wrote it, you have the copyright, and the right to let him take it down.

Try reasonable and polite at first, no need to threaten with legal action the first time you talk to someone :)
Things like these are usually handled through the abuse email adress, like abuse@blogspot.com or something...

Not all the time, sometimes you have to sign your rights over to have something published.  That's basically how the music industry operates.  The artists sign away their rights to the music to the record companies in exchange for promotion and cds.

If your name isn't particularly distinctive, you can just say you didn't write it and someone with your same name did.

Siquo: Thanks for finding that email address...I searched high and low and could not find an actual address to contact. Awaiting response now.

As for whether I own the copyright, I'm not sure. I wrote the article, but it was fairly heavily edited to make it shorter for publication (including adding some grammatical errors as I mentioned...grrr) so I'm not sure whether I technically own the copyright or not. But again, all I care about is not having a google search link my name+college with somebody's inflammatory political blog.

I can't claim I didn't write it; when you google my name and college it's the first thing that comes up and my college isn't large enough there'd be two people with my name.

Also realized the guy has a different blog which does allow comments. Two years ago another guy commented on that blog with the exact same problem as me, so I put a comment also, and tried to contact that other guy. No word yet from either.
