Attack of the @'s
« on: October 31, 2007, 03:10:00 pm »

I recently messed about digging a tunnel in a cliff then abandoned and reclaimed the area. When I reclaimed the area there was no combat to speak of untill I sent a soldier to chase off a giant jaguar. He went after it and followed it down a tunnel and to my suprise it was in combat with an @ by the name of Edem Ingishcatten. He was a miner in the old group and came with the message of "An ambush!  Drive them out!"

Is my old fort trying to kill me?

Wow, that is really cool I hope it's a feature, not a bug.  But I thought when you abandon a fortress, all your dwarves leave?

So far I have yet to encounter any more people but I think it might have had something to do with the fact that he was really unhappy. In anycase a skilled miner is no match for seven axedwarves.

I noticed that when I reclaim a fortress, some of my dwarves are still there.
So far they've been friendly and just stand around doing nothing.

I didn't get a chance to see before he was eaten by the Jaguar. But I did get the ambush message.

UPDATED: I have found a farmer that got devoured along with a miner by a saltwater crocodile... I find it odd that there is a saltwater crocodile at the top of a cliff in the mountains far away from any body of water. Anyway the crocodile is called Tithlethotin "Rumoredwine"... Is the name a coincidence or is it just because it ate two dwarves?
