It seems that the recent build (0.22.123.23a) somehow made it so my party almost never follows me into caves, ruins and fortresses. They work fine in town and will occasionally come, but it's a lot less frequent than before.

Do they not even show up on these maps or do they hang out at the edge?  What happens?

It'll go like this: I get some guys, travel to the cave map, and go in. Usually, they would all run inside and use their built-in NVG's to find some monsters. Now however, I'll go in and end up by myself or with only one or two allies. If I go back out they will be milling around the entrance and will follow me outside.

I've had the same issue - also happens in goblin fortresses and entrances to buildings in ruins.  It seems most common with dwarven companions.
