Yes, that is correct as I have unfortunately found out about 3 times now.

The safest place to practice swimming is in a cavern with water in it where it never freezes.

If you use P you can check the temperature, but I've found that it can go from cool, to cold, to freezing VERY fast....

I just realized.
I've never died due to temperature changes.
My adventurers either don't live long enough to see it happen, or they're so badass I'm too busy slaughtering monsters to go swimming.

I have tried to swim an ocean ONCE...
And the moment I jumped it it froze >.>

It's time for something like this to be implemented in the game.

This also happens at night in arid/desert climates. I play most of my characters in the hottest areas, preferably deserts (that's my preference in real life, too

) so I get exposed to this quite a bit. Luckily there's not much water to get frozen haha.

I played in a desert once, giant scorpion attacked. Me and it then caught on fire and proceeded to beat the shit outta each other with clothes.
