Cover Letter of WAAAAAAH!
« on: April 19, 2011, 07:42:53 pm »

 :'(

So I am applying for school and I need to explain failing and incomplete marks. (My GPA is more then enough to get me in on its own)

How in the world do you go around explaining that sort of thing?

I am really driving myself crazy here and I just want some phrasing advice.

Of things to note. My main problem was procrastination and I am learning disabled.

I think you should concentrate on pushing your strong aspects, rather than excusing weak points. That will come at the interview if they ask you directly.

Honestly I've found essays easier then this cover letter

How the world do you "specifically explain" a failed mark without... saying a weakness.

There's no good answer, so write a response that is as short and direct as possible.  Actual people will be reading your work and that's very tedious and time consuming.  They'll love a short response and not the same rambling obfuscation that everyone else would be doing.  Plus, it will save you time too.  So just come out and state that you were lazy, or dumb, or uninterested in the subject matter.

Do you have to comment on that failed mark at all?

Also, what Bouchart said. Don't make it too overblown. Humble-but-eager is the spirit.

I had someone edit my cover letter and it somehow looks a lot better... so so far things look good.

Thank you everyone.
