Games Threshold and Discussion Thread, my friend.

Also, you're not quite established yet, so I doubt many people will be joining. Try playing a couple of games first.

Also also, Mephansteras' Paranormal mafia has been in signups for over a week now. It's usually immensely popular, filling in couple of days, if not hours.

All true, as elitist as it may sound.

People around here are usually careful with new players and mods, as they're not guaranteed to perform well or keep good form. Join the next BM when it crops up, or join a few of the other games with established mods and a simple setup to get you started.

Actually, I might as well start BMXXIII now.

Large influx of games seem to be coming in right now. What was that ratio called that said that more people want to be mods then players?

There isn't one.

It's just that a lot of games by newbies have cropped up in the past, and since nobody wants to play with an unproven mod they stay in signups for a very long time (practically forever). It looks like there's a lot of games, but most are in fact dead.

I have used mafia in a forum context before. I have witnesses.

I've also played mafia several times in a forum context and have had many games in http://www.epicmafia.com/home .

I know what I'm doing, which is making sure any possible player doesn't.

Though this is indeed good, most Mafia experiene from other places is usually considered of limited value, especially without a B12 game under your belt.

Here in B12, we're incredibly aggressive and pressure oriented, which results in us playing at a higher level and pace (or so I'm told). One well known story is that of Vector (prominent player here, now semi-retired) nailing both scum down from their very first posts, hunting them relentlessly, then getting kicked from the game for getting it right (they thought she was cheating somehow because of the alarming speed) in an xkcd game.

I'd still advise you to join the BMXXIII game and see what they do. If you're experienced, then great, the formality is out of the way and you'll have curbstomped the newbs. If not, you just gained a valuable lesson.

I feel so out of place.

We also do things weird here. Vector is an extreme in that I trained her well. Or I trained her how to handle pressure at least. I remember how she was afraid to join games with me :P Muahaha.

See, I'm sure you have an excellent resume for Mafia, but we like games from here. It's just how we roll. No offense intended.

It's usually easier to run a game if there are way less too.

I understand. I'll lock this until later when I feel as though there may be interest.
