Refusal to haul Dumped items?
« on: April 16, 2011, 01:02:46 am »

I have killed off about 15 gobbos, and while they don't mind picking up the pretty silk sock in the middle of a ambush, they WILL NOT dump dead bodys or body parts. Is there a work around? I've tried everything, and it not forbidden.

P.S. What is the easiest way to kill caged creatures?

Odds are the items you're attempting to dump are outside, and you've not changed the default orders regarding refuse to gather refuse outside. In other words, you can solve this problem by, from the main screen, hitting o-r-o. Items marked for dumping are considered refuse, so if your dwarves have standing orders to ignore refuse outside (the default, as implied earlier), they'll ignore outside items marked for dumping.

The easiest way to kill caged creatures is to dig a deep pit, say 10 z-levels, and pit caged creatures into it.
