Can you sell caged prisoners?
« on: April 14, 2011, 08:45:59 am »

Can you sell caged prisoners, or is there still the bug that lets them escape if you try to bring them to the depot? Do they have a trade value? (And if you knock out a dwarf and trap them in a cage, can you sell your *Dwarf cage*)

I guess you can sell the prisoners, but that sale doesn't include selling the cage they're in.

As for selling the cages they're in... well... haven't tried.

If one could mod this game to think of them as POWs...

You can't transport them to the depot in a cage.  They will fall out along the way.

There is currently a bug that prevents you from moving a caged critter to depot.

You know, what happens if you dump a cage from above to make it land on the Depot, then unforbid it and put it up for trade? That way, a dwarf doesn't need to 'haul the cage to the Depot' to make it available for trading.

Congrats, Psieye. This is the first time I've seen a derailed thread get put back on the rails.

I tried that. I even got it to drop on the right spot in the depot so they didn't have to move it a single tile. A dwarf still had to come up, pick the cage up (which releases the prisoner), and then put it in the trade depot.
