Removing diacritics from a saved game
« on: April 13, 2011, 04:41:21 pm »

I found the accent remover utility which updates the language files to remove diacritics, however when the saved file is loaded up it is still using diacritics.

Any ideas?

Are you using the file it spit out? Or are you using the file it backed up for you?

Also, I remember finding an accent remover that didn't consider anything to be accented due to DF's file structure.  Which one are you using?

hermano's accent remover.

It does remove the accents from the .txt files that are in the objects folder, since I opened them to check. I updated all of the txt files for all the save files just in case, as well as the default ones outside of the save folder. Yet it still appears otherwise. Either I'm missing some files or it only uses those files for generation and stores the actual generated names elsewhere.

Oh.  Yeah.

Any new children will be named correctly.  The ones who are already generated aren't being stored in language_Dwarf.txt, etc.

Did you update the raws in your save folder or in your game folder?
