[38c] Slowdown then speed up
« on: February 25, 2008, 09:56:00 pm »

For some reason, i had my frames drop from 100 to 50 when i mined out a certain amount of stone it seems. Once i used a little bit of it up, it went back to 100. I have a savegame of when it slows down and a savegame after of what i did that sped it up. I don't remember exactly what i did to speed it back up but all i did was build some floors and walls and it went back to normal. Let me know if you need the gamesave if this bug wasn't reported already.

I've noticed that when a biggish group of sneaking goblins appears on the map, the game slows down momentarily due to all the pathfinding checks they're doing.  It could be that's what happened at the same time.

Actually, i think its the temperature changing, as at mid-spring and mid-fall, the system comes to a crawl then eventually the fps goes back to 100, and by crawl i mean 40 fps. I think i'm on a temperate or cold setting, but i'm not sure how to check. But water does freeze during winter.
