Strike the Earth message
« on: April 11, 2011, 11:25:10 pm »

I embarked in a savage forest, hoping to get the ents in genesis (maybe catch them too). The Strike the Earth message, however, mentioned "ere the Giant Desert Scorpions get hungry."

Does this mean I will have ents AND giant desert scorpions on this map? Sweetness!

I tend to get a warning about bears or wolves. I think the word hibernation was mentioned as well. They were there, just as promised too.

It also mentions "Before winter entombs us" when embarking in a tropical forest. :P

I got the message about wolves, or maybe it was leopards... but I haven't seen either of those (Savage desert).

On the other hand I have encountered a trio of giant desert scorpions. No danger of them getting hungry, they receive a nice diet of dwarf...

Socks inspire the same sort of emotions in dwarfs that Helen of Troy inspired in the Achaean Greeks. Although it is said that Helen's face launched a thousand ships, socks have surely launched a million ultimately-fatal Store Owned Item tasks.

Capture them. BREED them. Then, when you have enough children of both genders, butcher the parents so they cannot act as sleeper agents for sting operation on your fortress.

From Mr. Welch's 1350 things he is not allowed to do in a RPG:
148. There is no Gnomish Deathgrip, and even if there was, it wouldn't involve tongs.
171. My character's dying words are not allowed to be "Hastur, Hastur, Hastur"
218. No matter my alignment, organizing halfling pit fights is a violation.
231. I am not allowed to do anything that would make a Sith Lord cry.
240. Any character with more than three skills specializing in chainsaw is vetoed.
