bridge.

How do I store ballistae ammo? At first I tried a 2x2 siege ammo pile, but then was like ''No these things are huge.''

So I tried a 2x3 right beside the ballista

But they didn't seem to want to store them this way. So I tilted it and tried it that way.

but still, nothing. I know I have the ammo itself, I made 3. One to load and two in reserve. How do I get them to store these things?

I think siege ammo only takes 1x1 space, despite them being huge.

Just make sure your stockpile accepts siege ammo, and that your OTHER stockpile doesn't, or else dwarves will never move them.

I tried a 3x3, still didn't work.

And there is no other stockpile. I have one for ammo, and I have 2 extra bolts sitting in the siege shop... but no one feels the need to move them or something.

I have the stockpile for it custom... I have everything turned off in the first option, except ''Siege Ammo.'' I left ''material types'' and all that turned on.

Use dumping to make a quantum stockpile?

Christ, are you dwarves or are you elves? If you think Hell has too many demons, then youkill them till the population reaches an acceptable number.
Dwarf Fortress: So horrifying the players would rather talk about nice things, like Warhammer 40k.

It should work fine with a stockpile only set up to receive da big arrows, they do only take up 1 space each.  Its working fine for me

Confirming my ballista arrows are stored in a 1x1 stockpile tile just fine.

Now I can't shake the feeling that talking about ballista arrows and size has some hidden meaning. Oh well.

Siege ammo is stored in a furniture stockpile, not an ammo stockpile.

If the arrows refuse to go in anyway, deactivate all your garbage dumps, set outdoor refuse hauling, designate a garbage dump next to the ballistas, (mass) dump the arrows, set up a furniture stockpile in the spot (after at least one arrow has been placed in the dump) and unforbid the arrows as they go in.

Given current events, I've altered my profile pic and I'm sorry it took so long to fix. If you find the old one on any of my accounts elsewhere on the internet, let me know by message (along with the specific site) and I'll fix. Can't link the revised avatar for some reason.
