i think this has been discussed in previous posts but anyway here's the problem or maybe not

i reclaimed a fortress after my whole military got destroyed by hammergoblins while my idiots dwarves ran to their death in elk birds trying to recover some socks 

so ya, the question is, why are two of the goblins i found in the caverns are friendly and what should i do with them?
