Crash on equip screen

After embarking, I decided to plan my trip more carefully.  I then changed my mind, and decided I'd rather just let the machine pick everything for my very first fortress in the new version.  So I aborted out of that screen.  I got the "cleaning out assets" message, and then DF crashed.
