Stuck dwarves?

So, one of my miners (recently arrived from a migrant wave with that) had channeled two times. The second channel did not appear. A chamber was then dug out. He wouldn't come up. I thought the problem would resolve itself. Some weeks later, "Urist McIncompetentminer has died from thirst". A second chamber was dug out beside it some time later. No problem. As the chamber expanded I get messages such as "Urist McHauler cancels store item in stockpile: item inacessible" and they won't climb the ramp. Nothing's blocking it.

Is the ramp supported? The upmost end (on Z-axis, not Y-axis) needs to be against a wall, or the ramp will be unusable.

Ramps are a pain in the butt. Supposedly they're better for FPS than stairs, but there's about a dozen ways they can go horribly wrong, so I don't think it's worth it.

No, only the bottom end is connected to a wall. I just got them out by building a wall, thanks.
