I'd actually managed to get sleepers that could recruit additional sleepers, damn it!

Actually, that is not uncommon.  I at least have never finished a game of LCS in one night.

Admittedly a lot of that is annoying "nothing is actually happening time" like walking around places holding until I meet someone I'm looking for. :/

Trick is to retire very early, but after months of insane terrorist acts, daily massacres, dozens of high ranked sleepers and influencing the public opinion all the time. Most of the time even a BC game can be "abandoned" in less than a year, and eventually country will turn elite liberal on its own.

For speed runs though, the key is to go to sites and kill 1 conservative, so you don't alienate the masses by killing too many people. Doesn't take long to get all issues to 100% liberal on polls. (except for CCS). Then you get some sleepers. Also, hit W a lot.
