Farmers gonna Farm(not)
« on: April 03, 2011, 03:26:31 pm »

With the new update that allows non-muddied farms, I finally switched from 40d to 2010(really should be called 2011). I started a farm on underground soil and selected dimple cups for all seasons, like usual. But my grower/farmer(fields)/you know what I'm talking about refused to farm, even when I gave him 3 friends to work with. Is this glitch common? I couldn't find anything about it from search, I'm sorry if there are a million and 2 of these. I am using MayDay's green texture pack, if that makes a difference. Please help!

I've never encountered anything like it. All I can suggest is the usual stuff about making sure you have seeds/burrows worked out/ access to the field.

Umm, what are these burrows you speak of. Its a 2010 thing isn't it.

Edit1:I looked then up, and since I have none, it shouldn't make a diffrence right? Also, I have seeds right next to the plot.

Sorry, yeah. You can order your dwarves to stay in a given area of the map. Useful but probably not the issue here since I assume you have not made any. Have you tried moving your field somewhere else? Are you sure you have seeds? It is possible they planted and harvest them and then moved the resulting crop to a plant barrel somewhere.

EDIT IN REPLY

Well, I'm not sure then. All I can suggest is trying to plant a different field. And maybe make a bug report if somebody else doesn't think of something. I have not heard of or seen this problem. Are you able to farm other crops in that field?

I will try moving it, but I have 3 people idle with farming on, so thats not an option. I DEFINATLY have seeds right next to the plot.

Can you farm anything else in that plot? If so it is almost certainly a bug.

Ack, I fail. Turns out they moved everything so now plump helmets are on the bottom, used to them being on the top. There really should be a (you have none of this seed) notification or something.

It's been so long since 40d I'd forgotten about that. At least you got it worked out.
