The Military System and uniform materials
« on: June 28, 2010, 01:51:41 am »

The dorf one, not the other one. I'm referring to the process of selecting pieces for a new uniform. The base uniforms show things like "metal armor" and "shield/buckler metal" - but I can find no way of duplicating these general terms. Is it possible?

Not sure;  Not that you'd really want to anyway.  Their defaults are usually far from optimal.

It's very easy. When you add a shield, it simply reads "Shield." Then go to Materials and select "metal" from the list.

But there's no way to add "metal armor," that I can see. Only a mail shirt or breastplate.

I'm searching for how to do this too.
Selecting "Metal Armor" form the list; it's not in the list.

And that's why I digged up this dead topic.

The three start off uniforms are just generic stuff to get started. And can cause problems(i.e)Leather armor includes finished goods junk, so a soldier will wear a decorated vest, instead of the nice body armor you made. Best thing to do, make some new uniforms, more specific, and never trade for decorated armor, or weapons at the depot.

but decorated armors and weapons are sooooooo cool, and a way to show off your fashion sense...if youre an elf! though, if you could encrust your weapons and armor with spikes of gems and more metal....

My only wish is that I could have my jewelers encrust my civ's symbol on my dwarves' helms.
