A simple megaproject.

I've decided that the natural volcano near which my dwarves live is insufficient. In the true Dwarven spirit, I've decided to demolish and rebuild it out of the local diorite. My question is this: do volcano's refill? Or will I have to pump out all of the aboveground magma into a giant cistern? Any answers are appreciated.

For extra dorfbonus, shape it (or make it look) like a giant WILLY dorf face, with magma in the mouth. With controllable drooling.

Not dorf enough!
Mine out all the land down to ground level, then install a floodgate in the side of the magma pipe that towers over the land. Merry Goblin Christmas!
