Smelt the tetrahedrite.  copper = bins, silver = large, serrated silver discs for trade goods.  A few silver discs can buy out everything the caravan has, with a fat profit margin for the merchants.  Less hauling if you trade high value items like trap components and battle axes, or quarry bush roasts.

Also, obviously, magma avalanches and tsunamis weren't exactly a contingency covered in the mission briefing.
I can assure you that Ardentdikes is not the first fortress to be flooded with magma. What's unusual is that we actually meant to flood it with magma.

This sounds like it's probably not the problem in your case, but in general, it's noteworthy that the traders decide what to bring based on what you already have. So if you're worried about running out of wood, and you have a couple hundred logs stashed away to make sure you don't, the traders will see that you already have wood and not bring you any beyond what you specifically ordered. If you turn all that wood into bins/beds/ash, they'll see that you're out and bring you more. (Also, items that are built into walls or floors or workshops still count as you having them, since you can un-build those things to get them back.)

Dying (ceasing to be alive) is also not a Moodable skill. Even totally unskilled Dwarves seem to do it correctly.

Ooooh...!

1. I didnt guess that they would care how much of stuff I already have!
2. Can you really use pots for all your food?
3. I need some of your thoughts on this. Has anyone forgotten enormous wooden corkscrews? 66 base value, 792 if masterwork, almost weightless? Not to mention metal ones. A masterwork steel one cost about 12k, or was that exceptional? Or iron? I forgot, but it's really high like this.

Yes yes and yes. You need barrels to extract sweet pod syrup at a farmer's workshop with the "extract to barrel" command though. And you need one barrel for a dyer shop.
