Most Disappointing Artifacts
« on: March 29, 2011, 07:33:12 pm »

I don't mean moods that couldn't possible make anything useful. I am referring to moods with enormous potential, that end poorly. For example, recently a weapon smith was possessed and grabbed a hunk of adamantine and got to work. The result? Legendgoaded the Adamantine mace.

So, what artifacts have turned out to be overwhelmingly disappointing?

Dude, you've created a Yeti with nothing to lose.

You've created Yeti Batman.

If you give it to your captain of the guard it will become useful.

Pretty much anything artifact involving bone up until the recent round of bugfixes.  Nothing worse than watching your dwarf grab 20 different items only to wind up with an unadorned bone ring with only the name to differentiate it from every other bone ring in the fortress.

Well ok, one thing worse would be if any of those items were adamatium.

Wooden blowguns. Especially those with only the single log in 'em.

Do dwarves with legendary splints not get rid of them like legendary weapons?

"Sir, you're fine. You don't need that splint" "I'LL DAMN WELL TELL YOU WHEN I DON'T NEED A SPLINT."
