Very minor: Map macros to hotkeys
« on: March 28, 2011, 02:59:53 am »

I'd like to request a very minor interface tweak.

Current macro functionality is great, but it is still a bit cumbersome trying to use a macro from your library. Since the macro library lacks any sorting or organization, this takes noticeable time when you have a lot of macros.

So I think that macro functionality could be made nearly-perfect with just a single addition: allow users to map macros to keyboard combinations - preferably from the same menu where macros are currently loaded.

What's strange is it used to. I've been gone a while.. back when this was the start of a macro..
Code: [Select]
[BIND:MACRO0:TC_Central_Stairwell]
[SYM:Ctrl+Multiply]
[MACRO:MACRO1:1]
[MACRO:CURSOR_DOWNRIGHT:1]
[MACRO:MACRO2:1]

Now I'm just trying to figure out how to convert it to the new format. :)

Exactly why I assumed it's a minor fix. :-)

Of course ideally player should also be able to define "use-on-this-screen-only" or "use-in-designating-mode-only" macros, but really, just the ability to map my macros to hotkeys would be enough to drive me to ecstatic. :-)
