Guard dog strategies
« on: March 24, 2011, 07:11:53 am »

I've got this hermit, and she has three dogs (Two war, one puppy), an assortment of farm animals and a cat.

I want two dogs outside her door and one personal dog guarding her. How can I accomplish this? The dogs always end up wandering around when I give them a pen there. And I don't want to chain them up because then they won't persue things like theives.

Also my front door seems to never close...

Make a chain on either side of the door and assign the dogs to them. They'll get chained up and guard the door from anything trying to get in. You'd only have to worry about bowmen taking them down form a distance. But I don't think two dogs would be much of a challenge even if they weren't bolted to the ground.
