I'm trying to make a goose that has a lowish chance of being born and will lay golden eggs, capable of being melted to gold bars.
How can I do this?

Here's what I have so far.

I created a new itemgloss file for the egg item.
Is there a meltable tag I should add, and how much bars should come from it? I figure it's probably easier to just add a custom reaction, but that feels clunkier than having it fit in with the established melting function.


Additionally, is it possible to have it so the item named "golden egg" rather than golden goose egg?

You don't use EGG_SIZE or CLUTCH_SIZE with LAYS_UNUSUAL_EGGS.  Those are only for use with normal eggs.

Er, it's not possible to define new item tokens (like "G_EGG"), since they're all hardcoded into the game itself - the only ones you can possibly use are these ones.

If you want to make a tool, then use TOOL:ITEM_TOOL_GOLDEN_EGG and then define the tool's SIZE and/or MATERIAL_SIZE to determine how many gold bars you get from melting it.
