Need a bit of help getting this running
« on: March 15, 2011, 06:15:26 am »

So, a few days ago I decided to try crunchbang linux. Since ubuntu is giving me the finger constantly, I'll just try to do my stuff in some other os.

The thing is I cant seem to get df_linux 31.18 working:
Quote
./df: 6: ./libs/Dwarf_Fortress: not found

I read on the forum that its likely due to my crunchbang being 64-bits.
So, I followed http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=58990.0
and that lead me to installing ia32-libs.

"OH JOY" I exclaimed, but alas, another error:
Quote
./libs/Dwarf_Fortress: error while loading shared libraries: libSDL_image-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

libsdl-image1.2 is installed and I'm out if ideas.
Any help is appreciated.

I am not that familiar with CrunchBang.  Have you tried installing the development version of libSDL-image?  In this case it would be libsdl-image1.2-dev .  Good Luck.

You need the 32-bit version of libsdl-image1.2. Don't ask me how to get it though.

Dwarven blood types are not A, B, AB, O but Ale, Wine, Beer, Rum, Whisky and so forth.
It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.
