Engraver produced metal craft item but still became lege

One of my all-purpose miner/engraver/masons went Fey (yay!), claimed a craftsdwarf's shop, grabbed a nugget of gold and some bars of iron and went to work.
He produced a gold braclet encircled with bands of iron with no images, yet still became legendary in engraving.

I'm not complaining, my freshly dug bedroom block could do with some masterful engravings  :D

As far as I know, strange moods always used to make the dwarf's highest skill become Legendary, not the skill required to make the artifact. I've had Legendary Engravers like this before too.
