... as far as i can see...

1 stack of bone of whatever size produces 1 single bone x-bow.

not a big deal.. since bones do come by fairly easily.

guess it'll be fixed whenever bone stacks can be split/consolidated.

Yeah, there are quite a few problems along these lines.  They don't currently split stacks properly, so it just turns a stack into an item.
