I like this idea, call it devil or hammerer. In my opinion you should be able to 'beat hell' by killing such a beast. Recently I opened up the downstairs basement and no one was home. So I happily started an underground city built out of granite and elf corpses. I would love to do this again, especially if I earned it.

Really, if hell was to be breached, would they send a few weak dudes out then start sending out stronger dudes?

No.

They would all rush out at the same time, eager to escape and corrupt everything possible.

Why not? send the underlings so that the important demons can survive.

Or weaken the enemy with lesser units so the stronger ones can clean up.
