Injured dwarves being put in prison for not following or

My legendary metalsmith was injured in a goblin siege and was put in jail while he was resting for not following a noble's mandate. He keeps getting taken out of prison and put into bed, then taken out of bed and put into prison repeatedly. I don't think it should work this way.
