Dodge Traps
« on: March 11, 2011, 07:49:44 pm »

I hear a lot of talk about "dodge this" traps but I've been unable to actually tell what it refers to.  In a new version do hostiles dodge traps a lot more to warrant slapping pits around them or what?

Yes, you build a one-tile walkway, line it with traps, and channel to the sides. With any luck, everything will dodge into the pit.

Or maybe there's a god who's just completely insane and sends you to Detroit, Michigan in a new body if you ever utter the name "Pat Sajak".

Does weapon type/quality influence dodge probability? What's the best to be put in these weapon traps?

I have taken to using green glass spiked balls, 10 to a trap.  I used to use wooden training spears but with the recent changes to the commonality of coal and lignite my trees are being saved for making steel.  I like setting up my entrance so that intruders are forced to travel over catwalks beside the pit 3 times, but so far have yet to see anything make it past 4 or 5 traps before dodging to their splattery death.
